Euphoria: Everything About It

Hey baddies! Today I'm going to talk about euphoria. There's not much else to say so let's get into it.

What is euphoria? Euphoria is a state of transient intense joy. It is often compared to or mistaken for mania (they are in fact quite similar). During euphoria, or a euphoric episode, one may experience many positive emotions and feelings to an extremely intense level. You may feel connected to the world. You will most likely have a feeling of well-being and that everything will be perfect or that everything is perfect. You'll feel like you're on top of the world; nothing can bring you down. However, this state of epicness does not last too long. It'll last from a few hours to a few days. This is what differentiates it from mania. Mania lasts months, while euphoria goes as quickly as it came.

What causes or triggers euphoria? Euphoria can be caused by many things, such as positive events or relationships, but it can also happen suddenly, without cause.

Is euphoria a good or bad thing? Euphoria may seem as though it's a good thing, and it's not necessarily bad, but too much of anything is NOT good. Euphoric episodes can become negative if they occur too much too intensely. But why? Isn't being constantly positive and happy a good thing? You would think so, but individuals under extreme positive emotions may often make impulsive, risky, dangerous decisions and behaviors.

How does one handle a euphoric episode? If you are experiencing a euphoric episode and it is becoming too much to handle, you can use grounding techniques and coping mechanisms such as mindful breathing, journaling, and meditation. You can also take advantage of the euphoria and use it to fuel your creativity and energy when doing things such as writing, art, athletics, or just physical labor.

I hope this article deems useful to y'all. I'm currently experiencing the dulling of a euphoric episode, so I thought I would write this before the euphoria is fully diminished.

Stay safe, healthy, and happy baddies!
